Love It, CASE It!
Sometimes we sit to craft and our head goes empty. I find that those occasions are the perfect time to recall the cards and creations I've seen online. There's no shame in CASE 'ing, there's little new in this world that hasn't been inspired by something already seen.
My base is Fresh Freesia, a mat of Blushing Bride, topped with a another of Fresh Freesia and white.

And so it was with this weeks Coffee and Card event. Last month I spotted an attractive card online, striking in it's colourway of black base, white mat with ink in pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, mango melody and black. The card was created by a demonstrator called Su Mohr (Aromas and Art). I decided to CASE it using a softer colour palette.
Below you can see my 'take' on Su's card.

There isn't a mask with circles and I didn't want my ladies to share so I cut some old A4 card into quarters and punched different sized circles from each piece. The ladies each had their own set of punched card. Through this we blended the coordinating ink both lightly and more heavily, followed by stamping with stamps from Dragonfly Garden in Memento black ink. Splatters of ink from Wink of Stella completed the card.
A piece of white card is inside and is stamped to match, as is the envelope.
My card is certainly not striking like the original but is a soft, gentle nod towards it. Thank you Su for your stunning original!
Perhaps this post will help you when you can't come up with the perfect card.
Until next time,
Happy crafting.
