Today I want to share a thank you card I made last week. I’d received a beautiful crochet cloth from a lady in Italy who I’ve yet to meet. The perfect excuse to send a card of thanks. I ‘ummed and ahhhd’, trying to think of something suitable, before finally returning to the striking Blackberry Beauty suite featured in the new mini catalogue. I'd used it for my recent Pinwheel Tower Card. The gold foiling in the patterned paper really makes the images ‘pop’. In case you haven't seen it there are some photos of the card at the foot of this post.
As you can see, in addition the the paper, I also use some does cut images from the coordinating ephemera pack. Despite not being a bird lover, I think the owl image is a lovely addition to the suite. In fact, it’s the first thing my eye was drawn to as I browsed these products in the catalogue.
Below are another couple of photos, in one you can see the owl quite clearly.
The card layer around the base has been embossed with the Seabed 3D embossing folder before having a light rub of gold paste added (the paste is an old product from my stash). A similar effect can be achieved with Versamark and gold embossing powder.
A quick use of google translate to leave a message on the back, the card is now in the mail. I’m hoping the recipient can feel the vibe from my card as to how much her gift is appreciated.
Below are photos of the Pinwheel Tower card taken from each angle, including from above so that you can see the pinwheel shape, and of it laying flat to go into a regular C6 envelope. The sentiments are stamped and die cut using the Many Messages stamp set and coordinating Messages die.
