My first card is for a friend who no longer lives locally. Her birthday is in a few days time. The card is a fairly clean and simple style to which I added a little Wink of Stella upon completion, to make the flowers ’pop’ a little.
I stamped the large flower spray from the Forever Blossoms stamp set twice, once on the front of a basic white card base and also onto a wide strip of sahara sand. I used the Stamparatus when stamping to assist lining up the images to enable me to lay the sahara sand on top of the white with the images matching up.
With a blender pen I added basic white craft ink to the image on the sahara sand strip, ‘whiting it’ out. Doing this creates a more neutral base into which I can add colour, should I wish to do so. Any colour becomes more vibrant than if coloured directly into coloured cardstock. I kept most of the flowers white, adding a little pink tone to the centre of each and added green to the leaves. A sentiment is stamped on the lower part. I left the stamped image on the white card without colour.
The sahara sand strip was lined up over the image the the card base adhered in place. Wink of Stella ‘lifts’ the coloured images. I’ve also added a few sequins from my stash. You should be able to see the Wink of Stella in the photo below.
My second card is for a friends birthday tomorrow and is one that I’ve been intending to make for a few weeks. It’s called a Pinwheel Tower Card and is far easier to make than first appears. When viewed from above it is pinwheel in shape. All the pieces of card are arranged around a central column, as you can see below.
To decorate I have used beautiful patterned paper from one of the new DSP packs called Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper (part of the Blackberry Beauty suite) which you will soon be able to order from the upcoming mini catalogue which is released on 3rd July, along with our Saleabration leaflet (more news about that coming soon!)
The paper I chose from the pack is blackberry bliss covered with gold foil leaves. It’s quite stunning when you open the pack! I chose to use both sides of the same sheet as our paper is always beautifully coordinated. The sentiments are all stamped and die cut from the Many Messages stamp and matching die. Did you know that we also have a set of Christmas stamps that for that die too? How quick and easy to stamp and die cut a whole load in one fell swoop! Finally I added some floral images which can be found in the ephemera pack from the same Blackberry Beauty suite.
Here the card is shown folded flat, ready to fit a C6 envelope...
So, there you have two completely different cards. One more clean and simple, the other is a little ornate.
I like both of them and hope you do too.
I’m not able to share the images from the mini catalogue apart from the paper I used but will update everything once the catalogue goes live. In the meantime, a list of the other supplies is below for you.
Thank you for stopping by. If you’d like to receive your own copy of the new mini catalogue then please contact me.
Happy crafting,
Lesley
