It's the same thing every year - I either mail my cards on December 1st or they're not ready and I'm still dispatching them on Christmas Eve. There's no middle ground - it's just one or the other. This year they're late.I'd bought about 9 Christmas stamp sets along with coordinating items such as patterned paper, a punch or dies so it isn't that I didn't have a selection of products to choose from. Hubby had an op during the second week of the month so I'm blaming it on that!
Don't tell anyone - shhh! but I had to also resort to a few shop bought cards to round out numbers - eek! I also needed to make gift packaging for my class ladies, cards to go with team gifts and family cards. I got myself a little overwhelmed. Thankfully, I had a few cards made from recent classes.
Since I've mentioned it, I'll share the gift packaging for my class ladies first. The original is by Charry Wijers but Yvonne (Bevan) and I altered it to suit our needs, with Yvonne getting the measurements sorted - thanks, you're a star! Inside there was a little notebook, pen and a chocolate brownie.
I made them in several different colours, a few of which are shown here.
My team ladies received a different gift and one of two different cards.I batch made many of the cards using the fun Gnome For The Holidays stamp set with a cheerful colour for the card base - Magenta Madness, teamed with Gray Granite. The images from the set are shown below. I don't often go for cute images but thought these were fun!
I began uploading my photos to add to this post and can't believe that the only picture I have of my gnome card is when it was under consruction...how did that happen???
The finished card had the words mounted on foam strips to give dimension and both white ink and Wink of Stella splattered over the card front.
EDITED TO ADD: my lovely friend Kim sent me the photo below of a more complete card - thank you! Though you can't see the splatters on this one.
Here is the other card I sent out, and yes, I forgot to take a photo of the two I did with sentiments, ugh!
This last card was made for the owner of the Crazy Dog Hotel, where Lily goes on her playdays. It was made using DSP - Playful Pets and Plaid Tidings along with a sentiment from the Gnome For The Holidays stamp set. I dded some Wink of Stella to give a light sparkle to the dog coats but that's not so noticeable in the photo.
Finally, here are the little Santa table favours I made using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies. I say Santa but in our house he's know as Father Christmas.
How cute are they!
I hope you've enjoyed getting a glimpse into my Christmas crafting today. Our current seasonal catalogue is retiring at the end of the month - that's just 2 days time. Much of the retiring stock has already flown off of the warehouse shelves but if you'd like to own any of it then you need to get your order in quickly!
Below I've listed the items I've used in the above projects, if you'd like to view them more clearly or place an order then click on any of the images. Supplies are available while stock lasts.
Back with some more to share soon!
