I was supposed to have held this class in May but, due to my Dad being poorly and a pre-arranged trip, I had to postpone.
Now, most classes run fairly smoothly but for some reason I didn't feel that this one did, although the ladies seemed just fine about it...perhaps they just know me too well by now!?
I took the assembly of the 'mechanism'slowly as that was the part I really wanted them to grasp - only they can tell you if I achieved that! First we made a mock up, then got onto the first card. I had only made two cards as samples, which was probably just as well.
The first was a little vintage looking. In shades of delightful dijon and mossy meadow (both retired), along with very vanilla and Urban Underground DSP (also retired - remember, I'd ordered all supplies in for the class prior to the new catalogue). Here is the finished card.

The rose thanks stamp is one of two stamps from the new Floral Statements set. And inside....
I actually think of this DSP as quite masculine but just by using the reverse side it works so very well with this old style rose. A few sequins, a touch of wink of stella and an edge using a small stamp from Watercolour Wings.
The 2nd card is a little more contemporary. I've used Pop of Pink DSP - yes, I know it's full of that punchy melon mambo. Again, I've reversed it to use the monochrome black and white. Always so smart. Alongside I've used the one of the new In Colours - lemon lime twist. This is fast becoming a favourite - I'm still lamenting the demise of (un)lucky limeade from a few years back! Also, smoky slate.
The stamp set is Lift Me Up.
Inside I've used one of our new decorative masks, brilliant value with 4 different designs in the pack.
I think I'll send the ladies a quick email to see how they're getting along with this fold. Once you've mastered the technique it gives you a WOW! card.
I'd love your feedback on today's cards, positive or a little constructive criticism - let me know what you think!
I'm off to enjoy the warm evening now that the heat has dropped a little, hope you are too!

WOW, these cards are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for roses, since it was my maiden name, these stamps are on my 'to buy list'.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful artwork.
Hi Jackie, thank you so much for your very kind comment! I hope you enjoy playing with the set when you get it. :)
