Good morning to you all! Welcome to the Stampin' Creative Team's latest blog hop - The New Catty Sneak Peek Blog Hop, no less!
Whether you've hopped here from Pip's super blog or you've just decided to stop for a visit, it's nice to have your company. I must just add, at this point, that photography is NOT one of my skills, so be kind! There is also a complete list of blogs at the foot of this post, just in case you get lost or missed one!
Our present catalogue retires on 2nd June and, crazy though it seems, our new one starts the same day! With that in mind, I've a little tip for you at the bottom of today's post.
In the meantime, let me show you my projects. The first showcases one of our new embossing folders - it's bigger, approx 6" square, and fits perfectly with of our stamp sets.

My first glimpse of this embossing folder, well, it didn't exactly grab my attention. But inked up I'm loving the background it provides. The original colour was Daffodil delight but I've used Pumpkin Pie ink to give the impressed image a bit more depth. The butterfly is made from radiator tape, adhered to card stock and then die cut. The tape is very soft and easy to cut through. Behind the wings is a piece of window sheet (our own acetate) which has had a bit of work on it. I'm not sure if you can see from the next photo but it has almost a tortoiseshell finish colour way.
The body is coated in Crystal Effects and dazzling Diamonds. Greeting is from the Flower Patch stamp set.
With my second project I bring some of the new In Colours to you. As usual, there are 5 new colours which you can see on the chart here:
And my 2nd project here:
Using Tip Top Taupe I cut a fruit punnet using the Berry Basket die, embossed it with the Hardwood folder, then added some ink. To make the picnic 'cloth' I used a stamp from Work of Art and the Watermelon Wonder ink pad on a piece of kitchen towel. Inside the punnet is a set of cards which would be perfect for a summer invitation or simply to say 'Hello'.
Here is, hopefully, a clearer photo of the cards.
The card base is cut with our circle thinlets from Cucumber Crush card, a layer of Whisper White, a top layer of Watermelon Wonder. Finished off with black 'pips' using the owl punch.
This next card is in the new Mint Macaron colour. I've used the flower and fern from Butterly Basics. The flower is stamped and embossed in white, then coloured with chalk pen and, surprisingly, Watermelon Wonder ink. It looks much more of a rose colour when put over the chalk pen and mint card.
The sentiment is from Flower Patch, stamped and embossed onto vellum then placed over Mint Macaron card. Two tiny pearls in the centre of each 'O'. The ferns are stamped in the same Mint and also in Crushed Cucumber.
My final project is a set of mini notecards - just 3.5" square. The stamp sets used are Perpetual Birthday Calendar and Crazy About You. Whilst these are quite simple, they do show off the new card and inks.
Each card is finished off with a little gold or silver metallic bakers twine.
Before we move on here's a little TIP OFF for you: our current catalogue retires on 2nd June, our new one begins the same day. On the 2nd June you can still order out of the current catalogue at the prices printed. From the 3rd June only items in the new catalogue will be available and those prices will apply. Our Hostess rewards also change on June 3rd, so bear that in mind if you wish to place an order with a value of £150 or more, get that order in on the 2nd!
The next blog on the hop is Eimear's, I'm sure she'll have something special to share with you too! Just click on her name and you'll hop right over!
