Two birthdays in one week

Sale-a-brate Good Times!
I was in a bit of a panic yesterday. I knew that I had to make a card for one of my merry band, Lesley, as it's her birthday today but thought I had another week to make one for my friend Anne. Suddenly realised that her birthday is this weekend, not next. Add this to the fact that she lives in Canada......oops!
I CASEd this card after having seen one made by Carole Bryson. (You can see more of Carole's work @ http://heartfullyyours.blogspot.co.uk/ ) I used the same papers from Sale-a-bration but a pattern rather than the stripes Carole used. I also changed the sentiment stamp. I really liked this paper and the Fresh Vintage stamp set, such a shame it isn't in the main catalogue. I'm hoping that Anne doesn't see this card on the blog before it arrives and that she likes it, especially as it's going to arrive late!
Had an idea for Lesley's card, but you know best laid plans and all that. Wasn't at all pleased with the results ( that's nicely saying that it was a disaster). So I went back to plain and simple. The photo really doesn't do it justice.

'My Friend'
Okay, so it's crooked and not a great picture, you can't even read the greeting. You might get a better view if you tip your head slightly! Lesley tends to go for simple, clean lines so I thought this might fit the bill. The leaves ('My friend' from the Spring Mini - only 11 days left to order!) are in a soft chalk. It wasn't what I started out to do but, with midnight fast approaching and crafty chaos everywhere this is what she received. I must remind her to be eternally grateful! Did you spot a second sneak peek? It's that Bakers Twine again, this time in Lovely Luscious Limeade.
